Top Fall Festivals and Events in Richmond and Williamsburg

Fall starts next week and we wanted to get a head start on the season by providing you with some of our favorite festivals and events taking place around Richmond and Williamsburg this season.

Busch Gardens Howl-O-Scream (September 15 – October 28): Busch Gardens is full of Halloween excitement every weekend from September 15th to October 28th! During the day, groups of all ages can partake in holiday fun with Halloween themed musical revues, percussion and dance shows, and comedy skits feauturing trained animals. Once the sun goes down, frights fill the park with haunted houses, ghoulish characters, and escape rooms.

St. Benedict’s Oktoberfest (September 21 – 23): Get ready to put on your lederhosen! Considered as one of the season’s most anticipated events, St. Benedict’s Oktoberfest has been throwing a German-themed celebration for more than 14 years. The three-day festival boasts traditional music, dancing, and cuisine. There’s no better way to welcome fall than this exciting event in the heart of Richmond!

Pumpkinville (September 22 – October 28): Does the first sight of a pumpkin make you think of fall? As a seasonal treasure in Toano near Williamsburg, Pumpkinville draws people of all ages to pick their own pumpkins or select one that has been pre-picked. You’ll also find Halloween decorations throughout the farm, hayrides, corn mazes, and games. So much seasonal fun in one place!

Hanover AutumnFest (September 29): Seasonal celebrations will be in full swing at the historical Hanover Tavern for the 3rd Annual Hanover AutumnFest! When we say this festival has everything, we mean it. Live music and delicious barbecue set the tone for a day of fun with a hay slide, petting zoo, face painting, a colonial magic show, scavenger hunt, cornhole, tours of Hanover Tavern, and more. So much fall fun, so little time!

Goblins and Gourds (October 28): Round up friends and family and head to Lewis Ginter Botanic Garden in Richmond! Goblins and Gourds is a harvest celebration brimming with live music, storytelling, activities in the Children’s Garden, and of course, pumpkin painting. With Halloween around the corner, will you have your jack-o-lantern ready? Make sure to stop by the pumpkin and gourd carving station to brush up on your skills!

We believe it’s how you live that matters and hope you make the most of the season! Do you have ideas for fun fall activities in our Richmond and Williamsburg area communities? Make sure to share them on our Facebook page!
