HHHunt Communities celebrated National Night Out earlier this month with a variety of fun-filled community events. National Night Out is when neighbors in communities all over the United States come together to spend the night outdoors to promote neighborhood unity, awareness, safety, and the importance of a strong police-community partnership. We believe it’s how you live that matters and there’s no better way to strengthen neighborhood spirit and unity than by coming together for a fun time!
Charter Colony in Chesterfield County hosted a poolside celebration with a DJ, vendor fair with local Midlothian businesses, a door prize raffle with amazing donated prizes, a bounce house donated by Bounce 2 the Moon, a community-wide school supply drive in conjunction with Journey Christian Church, and delicious food from Slideway’s Mobile Bistro and Mister Softee Ice Cream. McGruff the Crime Dog, Scout the Safety Dog, and the Chesterfield County Police Department also joined over 380 homeowners and guests in the fun!
Rutland homeowners in Hanover County also came together for a fun night! The community enjoyed swimming in the pool with Hanover’s own Scuba Steve, delicious barbecue from Smokie Joe’s BBQ, yummy popsicles from King of Pops, and lots of raffle prizes. The night was even more memorable thanks to all the special visitors that stopped by! The Hanover County Fire Department showcased their fire truck while the Hanover Policy Department and McGruff the Crime Dog provided helpful tips.
We loved seeing everyone have a great time at National Night Out! We have to give a special thank you to the local first responders in attendance who continue to promote neighborhood unity and grow police-community relationships in our neighborhoods and help make our communities the best in the area. Also thank you to all the wonderful homeowners and guests that made National Night Out a success. We can’t wait to see what next year’s event brings!
