The 6th Annual Richmond Bacon Festival boasts all things bacon with $4 plates, Virginia Craft beer, and live musical acts. You can even bring your four-legged friends or a lawn chair to hang out under a tent. The festival takes place at the newly remodeled 17th Street Farmers Market in Shockoe Bottom area of the city.
Richmond Vegetarian Festival (June 23): If you don’t think everything is better with bacon, there’s the Richmond Vegetarian Festival for you on the same day! Grab a plateful of vegetarian, vegan, and even meat-friendly fare then check out the live music, vendors, and speakers. There are also food demonstrations for vegetarian and vegan cooking!
Kings Dominion Star Spangled Celebration (June 30 – July 4): Independence Day lasts all weekend long at Kings Dominion. Music from local military bands will fill your ears while nightly fireworks will fill the sky. Plus all your favorite rides will be open! If you are active or retired military or a veteran, the park is offering free park admission. Deck out in red, white, and blue and head to Kings Dominion in Hanover County for the weekend!
Hanover Tomato Festival (July 14): It’s a tomato-palooza with tomato pies, BLTs, and friend green tomatoes! This free festival near Ashland celebrating Hanover tomatoes is the county’s largest festival. Not only are there tomato tastings and over 150 artisans and business vendors, there are fun zones specifically for children 12 and under and pet cooling stations. You can also participate in a 4K pizza run and relay!

Beautiful Maymont Park sets the stage for national and international artists such as Gladys Knight and Ladysmith Black Mambazo. The annual event draws thousands of fans, so make sure to get your tickets!
