New Home Closings Up 30 Percent!

New Home Closings Up 30 Percent!

Home ClosingsWell the year has been virtually nonstop so far! But over the past few days we’ve taken some time to assess where we came from and where we are going as a part of the new home industry. As home builders and homeowners know, 2013 was a very good year. We saw lots of increased activity at our communities and we’re expecting an even better 2014.

This evidence was reinforced at a recent home building conference in Richmond. Our very own George Moore, Vice President of Development, spoke at the Home Building Association of Richmond’s Local Forecast Seminar and had some great things to say about the state of the housing market. The big takeaway from the forecast is what we’ve all known here at HHHunt Communities for some time: We’re bouncing back.

In the Greater Richmond Area, the number of new home closings was up 30 percent, the number of new permits issued was up 25 percent, and the average price of a new home was up 9 percent. Although not yet back to normal, we’ve now posted two consecutive years of solid gains and for that we’re all excited.

At HHHunt Communities, we recognize that this accomplishment is in large part due to the wonderful homeowners we are privileged to welcome to our communities, our business and community partners who support us in our efforts, and our amazing team who is dedicated to making a difference in people’s lives every single day. Thank you all!

We’re feeling the momentum and all signs point to an even stronger 2014!
