The holidays can be some of the most fun and joyous times of the year, due in no small part to the festive decorating and wonderful parties! We also love to see the beautifully decorated homes in our communities. They look incredible! To ensure you get the most out of your time with family and friends, here are a few last minute tips:
- Lighting for Parties – According to RealSimple, it’s best to keep those harsh overhead lights off during a party and instead opt for amber votive holders, as they provide the room with a warm glow. Additionally, decorating with metallic objects helps bounce the light around the room while maintaining that festive appearance.
- Ornaments – HGTV notes that when hanging ornaments on your tree you should ensure that the least breakable and non-toxic ornaments are toward the bottom. This is especially important for entertaining, as children and pets can roam about.
- Centerpieces – We all love festive centerpieces that really accent beautifully set tables and tasty food. However, as Clinton Kelly from TLC notes people too often forget to remove the centerpiece while the dinner is being eaten! He muses, “Sure, the centerpiece is supposed to be the focal point of the table, but it doesn’t make or break a dinner party like good conversation can.”
Of course, the most important tip of all is to enjoy this special time with your family, friends, and neighbors. Happy Holidays from all of us here at HHHunt Communities!
