The Fourth of July holiday is next week and we couldn’t be more excited! We believe it’s how you live that matters and love watching our homeowners celebrate this patriotic holiday in meaningful and fun ways with their friends and family. If you need some inspiration on how to celebrate the Fourth of July in Richmond, check out these free and family-friendly events:

Rocketts Red Glare: One of the most breathtaking views in Richmond is the historic waterfront at Rocketts Landing. You and your loved ones will ooh and aah as fireworks light up the Richmond skyline. The day kicks off at 8 am with a sand volleyball tournament, then a beer garden and fireworks viewing area opens at 5 pm. Fireworks begin at sunset and the event continues until 11 pm!

CarMax Free Fourth of July: Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden is opening its doors to all on the Fourth of July! Enjoy free admission to the garden and Butterflies LIVE! exhibit, live music, a parade and so much more.

Chesterfield County Fourth of July Celebration: Independence Day fun can be found all across the Greater Richmond Region! Chesterfield County Parks and Recreation is celebrating the holiday with local music, special entertainment, numerous food vendors and a children’s inflatables area. The event is free, but the inflatables area is $5. Fireworks will begin at sundown!

Dogwood Dell Fourth of July Celebration: Grab a chair and head to Dogwood Dell for a night of music and fireworks. The Richmond Concert Band will serenade you beginning at 7 pm and the fireworks will start at dusk.

Independence Day Celebration: If you’re searching for a festive daytime event, look no further than the Independence Day Celebration at the Virginia Museum of History and Culture! From 10 am to 5 pm, enjoy live music, gallery tours, food trucks, a photo booth and scavenger hunt. The celebration is extra special with more than 100 candidates from nearly 50 countries taking part in an annual naturalization ceremony.
