Love is in the air as we inch our way towards the most romantic holiday of the year! This Valentine’s Day, we hope you get to spend time with your friends, loved ones, and neighbors in your local community. We believe it’s how you live that matters and this holiday is all about showing the special people in your life how much you love them. They say that Virginia is for Lovers, and we must agree. Celebrating Valentine’s Day in Richmond and Williamsburg is always a blast. We’ve picked our favorites to share with you!
- Take a brewery and winery tour: Start the day off with a trip to the Williamsburg Winery, exploring the grounds and sipping the indulgences. Or visit Scott’s Addition, aka the brewery central of Richmond, to try every type of beer imaginable. In fact, Richmond was recently named The World’s Top Beer Destination for 2018 by VinePair!
- Spend the day at the local museum: We all know that Virginia is known for its rich history and fantastic museums. Both Richmond and Williamsburg have some of the best museums in the state! The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond is a must-see and is a wonderful place to visit for creative inspiration. In addition, Historic Jamestown in Williamsburg is one big museum in itself! Travel back in time to the Colonial days and explore the growth of England’s first permanent colony in North America.
- Participate in a cooking class: Spend an afternoon or evening together learning how to make a three-course meal or how to bake a yummy cake! Sur La Table and Mise En Place are two places in RVA who host great cooking classes where you’ll learn how to cook a different themed cuisine every time. A Chef’s Kitchen in Williamsburg combines cooking recipes with wine pairings, so you’ll learn how to cook with wine. What could be better?
- Have dinner with a water view: Nothing is more romantic than having a delicious meal on the water! Luckily, both Richmond and Williamsburg have numerous mouthwatering and local dining options to choose from. The Boathouse or Conch Republic at Rocketts Landing are always wonderful options if you want to overlook the James River. Riverwalk Restaurant, just outside of Williamsburg, is nestled along the marina along the York River too.
