The world has come to the Richmond region with the UCI World Bike Championships here, and we have your front row seats reserved at the Hanover Bike Fest at Rutland Commons in our Rutland community! Head over to Rutland in Hanover County on Wednesday, September 23rd from 12pm to 4pm to watch the exciting Men’s Elite Individual Time Trials race, which begins 20 miles north of Richmond at King’s Dominion and will make its way down Route 301 directly in front of Rutland Commons. Take a long lunch on Wednesday, as you won’t want to miss any of the action!
Come out and watch the race with friends and neighbors, listen to live music and a live broadcast from Easy 100.9, eat from local food vendors, drink local beers from Center of the Universe, snap a few pictures with Nutzy from the Flying Squirrels, and much more. It’s going to be a great time!
The Hanover Bike Fest is free to attend, so make sure to come early to enjoy a once in a lifetime opportunity to see the world’s greatest cyclists!
You can also spread the word on social media and show us how you live by taking pictures at the event with the hashtag #HanoverBikeFest. Make sure to “Like” the Hanover Bike Fest Facebook page at www.facebook.com/HanoverBikeFest and tweet @HanoverBikeFest as well.
Please note that there will not be access to Rutland Commons via Interstate 295 or Route 301 on September 23rd, but no worries! We’ve got an easy route to get you in and out of the Hanover Bike Fest, shown on the map to the left. We’re looking forward to seeing the bike race at Rutland and hope to see you there too!
